Key Dates

The bylaw was adopted by the Board on September 23, 2022.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure approved the bylaw pursuant to the Transportation Act on August 24, 2022.

Staff presented the draft bylaw to the Board for consideration of 3rd reading - view the August 19, 2022 Board Report. The Board gave the bylaw 3rd reading and staff referred the bylaw to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure for approval. 

The Regional District held a public hearing on the proposed Accessory Dwelling Unit Bylaw on June 22, 2022.

Staff presented the draft bylaw to the Board for consideration of 1st and 2nd readings and scheduling of a public hearing. View the May 27, 2022 Board Report.

As per Order in Council No. 438, amendments to the Agricultural Land Commission took effect December 31, 2021.

In mid-December staff began conducting background research and analysis in support of implementing the incoming legislation.

Staff presented a report to the Board regarding the incoming provincial legislation. Staff also presented information on how the new residential flexibility legislation can be implemented within the Regional District. View the December 10 Board report.

The Government of B.C. passed Order in Council No. 438, approving amendments to the Agricultural Land Commission Act, Agricultural Land Reserve Use Regulation effective December 31, 2021.
