Electoral Area D Business Survey
When I first became involved in the RDKS Economic Development Commission, tourism was the main driver for businesses within our area. Tourists have spin off benefits for businesses in the area they visit which our communities have enjoyed. Over the years, some major industries have closed or relocated decreasing the population of our area. Global events such as 9/11 and the COVID-19 pandemic have affected businesses within our area too.
There have been many businesses – Gift Shops, Restaurants, accommodations etc.- that have closed or operate reduced hours due to this. While we work to promote the area better, we want to hear what your unique challenges are to channel our efforts towards programs that are most valuable to you and will help you succeed as a business owner. Reach out to us – we are here to help address your business challenges and expand our area to what it used to be.
