In the fall of 2022 the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine hired Binnie to develop a plan for the demolition of the old Ken Trombley Arena and the redevelopment of the site into an outdoor community space. The plan would include trail extension on the existing Ken Trombley Ice Arena site and to the Eagle Down Trail. The final plan will include cost estimates and park designs to support future grant applications for the project.
On Tuesday February 28th, 2023 Binnie will be onsite at the Upper Skeena Recreation Centre doing a public information session and gathering public input into the plan. Come out to the Upper Skeena Recreation Centre at 2755 Hwy 62, Hazelton, BC between 4-7pm.
With the conclusion of the public input session and the closing of the survey, Binnie will be putting together a final report. The final report has been completed and accepted by the RDKS' Economic Development Commission.
